Table Runner or Wall Hanging of a prayer niche made from the embroidered ends of old towels and scarves, all of natural linen backed on cotton; embroidery is of silk, gold and silver metallic threads; fragments are skillfully pieced together to form a unified pattern; center has a floral design with bands of various designs in red, greens, pinks, blues and yellows.

Note
Some of the fragments are older than 19th century. Purchased in Jerusalem in 1933. The saz leaf was a marsh reed used to craft pens. It was also a plant from the enchanted forest of Turkish myths.
