Paul Parnes dress company was founded in 1931 by brothers' Paul and Edward Parnes. Paul had started his own operation in 1922 and the name changed to Mary Lee and was later acquired by Adele Simpson. Paul Parnes had his own label until 1964. Based on the union label, which dates this ensemble to at least 1964, this would have been one of the last ensembles designed with that label.
