Ta Suan li: Large Sour Pear: This variety is extensively grown in the mountains of northern China. The fruit is greenish yellow in color, the flesh very sour, and possesses many grit cells. It is a cultivated variety of Pyrus ussuriensis. Photographed near Malanyu, Pechilli, China, 1917.
