- Description
- Textile Panel from an Obi of hand-woven black silk brocaded in an all-over repeat pattern of cranes flying over waves and curls in white and gold silk with added touches of red on the head of the crane; very intricate and exquisitely detailed. The slight touches of red and the subdued colors suggest this Obi would have been worn by an older married woman. The crane is a symbol of long life.
