This translation is by humanist scholar Leonardo Bruni. Probably made from a manuscript brought to Italy by Chrysoloras.
Collation: Small folio in quires I-II__, III__.
Decoration: 2 initials in red with very fine blue tracery, and in blue with red tracery. f1r [initial large majuscule red 'Q']UI LAUDANT SACTITUTEM TUAM/ bearissime pater opus certe bonum ac pium agere/ pergunt. [TRANSLATION] THOSE WHO PRAISE YOUR HOLINESS, most blessed father, certainly continue to drive the good and pious work. f1r [Superscript marginal addendum in cursive hand] Platonis Phaedon, sive de animo in Leonardo Arentino (latine redditum) f1v [Initial Blue 'I'] PSE affuisti o Pheton ea die qua Socrates venenum bibit in carcere. An ab alio quodam audivisti. [TRANSLATION] Oh Phaeton, were you yourself present on this day when Socrates drinks poison in prison, or did you hear from someone else?
Binding: Contemporary binding of gray linen with olive morocco back with title in gilt: PHAEDON E VERS. LEON ARENTI.
Script: upright humanistic Roman hand with much abbreviation.
