H.P. Isaacs - 1856 Henry P. Isaacs was a merchant by trade in the 1850's and 60's and then moved to Walla Walla and became a grain broker. He died in Portland, but is buried in Walla Walla. He was one of two ""President of Board of Village Trustees.""

Description
W.C. Laughlin - 1855William C. Laughlin, a stockman, was active in both City and County Government. The first of two ""President of the Village Trustees."" He served on the City Council in 1863 before he died in 1864 at age 50 years in The Dalles.

N.H. Gates - 1857-1858 Col. Nathanial Holley Gate's service to the community spanned four decades. Two terms as President of the ""Board of the Common Council"" and five terms as Mayor. (Same job, different title.)

L.W. Coe - 1859-1860 Capt. Lawrence W. Coe, a major stockholder in Oregon Steam Navigation Company, moved to California in 1863 where his occupation was listed as a ""Mining Speculator"". He died at San Francisco in 1899 at age 68. Research has indicated that he was our youngest Mayor at 28 years
