A banner covering a section above the first level of seats in the background reads, 'Scalp Those Indians Again!', denigrating Native Americans in the process of cheering for OSU. Stanford University used "Indians" as its mascot until 1972. Through several actions by Native American students at Stanford starting in 1970, the university ceased using it as a mascot in 1972.
