T. J. Starker was a Professor of Forestry from 1922-1942. Starker taught courses in forest management and silviculture and purchased land during the 1930's which would become Starker Forests. Starker helped Corvallis gain Avery Park and was made a member of the Oregon State Board of Forestry by Governor Mark Hatfield in 1962.

Dr. William R. Furtick (right) was a Professor of Agronomy from 1949-1975. Dr. Furtick completed his Master of Science and Doctorate at OSC in 1952 and 1958, respectively.

Dr. Murray D. Dawson (right hand in background) was a professor of Soil Science and founder of the OSU Rugby Club. Dawson received the International Alumni Medal in 2006.
