The BSU President speaking here is believed to be Geoffrey Brooks. In December 1970, the Black Student Union protested multiple OSU athletic events held with BYU, objecting to Mormon Church policies that denied the priesthood to African Americans. Robert W. MacVicar (second from left) was president of Oregon State University from 1970-1986.
Frederick F. McKenzie (left) was a Professor of Animal Husbandry from 1944-1960. Reub Long (middle) was a rancher and author in Oregon, and was on the State Board of Agriculture. James E. Oldfield (right) received a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Oregon State University in 1951. Oldfield served as the head of the Animal Science Department from 1967-1983.
