Description: A large, outdoor sculpture piece comprised of three main parts. The base, a tall, skinny cone shape, supports the second part that resembles an upside down Nike swoosh. Extending from the thicker part of the second shape is the third shape, a long, skinny, needle-like spear., Twin Cones; Jonathan Bonner; copper and granite; 11 x 20 x 2 feet; Western Oregon State College; 1989, Bonner has pursued a dual interest in biology and weather vanes, many of his pieces being based on forms discovered in nature. Of this piece he says, "I guess I see it basically as a fish with its mouth wide open. It could be a seabird, like a skimmer."
