Ellen Moore graduated with a BA in Geology from Oregon State College in 1946 and worked as a Geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey from 1950 to 1987. Active in the professional paleontological community, Moore specialized in the study of marine pelecypods (snails and clams) of the tertiary period in the fossil record. She has held a Courtesy Research Associate appointment in the OSU Department of Geosciences since 1987.
