A single page pop-up book tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Sugar-Pants and the problems that result from too much sugar. The book sleave is printed with a city scape, and is meant to be used as a base support for the opend book. The two scenes displayed-- a roof top garden, and an interior hallway are collaged monoprints, photographed and digirally printed. The story is told in text panels at the bottom of the page.
Consists of 12 printed paper cards, 9 are 8 x 6 cm. rectangles, 2 are slightly smaller triangle shaped, and one is smaller curved shaped. Each card is printed from Staedtler's Master, carved into oriental paper, hand-lettered onto Nideggen and grommeted end to end to form a snake-like shape. Colored string is also glued to each card. They are bound in sharkskin over board on the back side. On the front side, hand lettering on the edges of each card tells why snakes are not nice. The cards can be folded down to 6 x 8 x 5 cm and put into the burgandy colored cloth bag (16 x 10 cm.) they were supplied in. Title from sharkskin side of the piece, on the card representing the snake's head. Laser-cutting by Julie Chen.
