William Wick (left) completed a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science at Oregon State College in 1950 and 1952, respectively. He was an Extension Service Agent for Tillamook County, then became Program Leader of the Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program and a year later became coordinator of the regional Pacific Sea Grant Advisory Program. In 1973, Wick became Director of the OSU Sea Grant Program and retired on December 31, 1990.
Robert M. Alexander (left) completed a Bachelor of Science at Oregon State College in 1942. He was Assistant Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station from 1946-1976.
Robert Warren Jacobson completed a Bachelor of Science at Oregon State University in 1963. He was a Marine Extension Agent and Lincoln County Extension Agent from 1967-1996.
Dedication of Hatfield Marine Science Center. John V. Byrne came to Oregon State University as an Associate Professor of Marine Geology in 1961, becoming the Chairman of the Oceanography Department in 1968. Byrne was the OSU President from 1984-1995.
The Hatfield Marine Science Center Library was named as a memorial to Marilyn Potts Guin who served as the Marine Science Center's first Librarian from September 1976 until her death in December 1989. The Library was dedicated on July 4th, 1990.
