In 1953, Landforce was promoted to Wildlife Specialist. George William Dewey Jr. (right) was student body president in 1944-1945. He graduated with a degree in agriculture. August LeRoy Strand (second from right) served as president of Oregon State University from 1942-1961.
Roy A. Young (left) became assistant professor of Plant Pathology in 1948. Young was head of the Botany and Plant Pathology department from 1958-1966. Young served for a short term as acting president from 1969-1970. He also served as Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies through 1977. Janet E. Young (right) was the daughter of Roy Young and graduated from Oregon State University in 1974. She was later chief of staff of the director's office of Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Dennis M. Tekrony (left) completed a Master of Science at Oregon State in 1967. Tekrony was an Assistant in Farm Crops at Oregon State from 1964-1970. Robert W. MacVicar (second from right) was president of Oregon State University from 1970-1986. Wilson Hoover Foote (right) was a Professor of Agronomy and Associate Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station from 1948-1985.

Warren Hovland (1918-2015) (left) was a Professor of Philosophy and Religion from 1949 to 1986, chairing the department for virtually his entire career. Hovland Hall is named in his honor.
