Francois A. Gilfillan (background, left) was a professor of Chemistry (1927-1939) and Dean of Science (1939-1962). He was also acting President of Oregon State College from 1941-1942. Ralph Coleman (right) served the longest tenure of any coach in Beaver Baseball history, 35 seasons from 1923-1966. His record was 561-315-1. He also was a 1918 player for OSC and was a pitcher.

Clifford Elges Maser was appointed Dean of the School of Business and Technology in 1947, at the age of 32, making him the youngest man to become Dean of a business school in the United States. Maser retired in 1966.
