The Experimental College was established in 1968 as part of the “free university movement” to provide the OSU community with opportunities for self-enrichment and experimentation in a casual setting with no grades. Classes were wide-ranging, including foreign language conversational skills, skiing, home-buying, and whale-watching. The harmonica class was one of the most popular. The program ended in the 1990s.
