The late Wayne Valley, class of '36, was an OSU football player who went on to a highly successful business career as a home builder in California. He was also a long-time major owner of the Oakland Raiders.

Loomis (on the right) gives Nat Giustina the award. Robert "Bob" Loomis graduated with a general science degree in 1956 and served as the medical director for PacificSource Health Plans. Loomis was also president of the Oregon Medical Association. Loomis has been involved in the OSU Alumni Association Board, OSU Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Beaver Athletic Student Fund. Loomis received the Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Nat Giustina was the E. B. Lemon Distinguished Alumni Award winner for 1983. Robert W. MacVicar was president of Oregon State University from 1970-1986. MacVicar was also a professor of chemistry and tripled the size of the university's budget. During his years as president, the size of the campus increased with 23 additional buildings.
Edith Whitelock was born January 14, 1902 in Ontario, Canada. She moved to Oregon with her parents soon afterwards. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, and entered Oregon Agricultural College in the fall of 1920. She graduated from OAC in 1924 with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics.
