James E. Oldfield received a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Oregon State University in 1951. Oldfield served as the head of the Animal Science Department from 1967-1983.
Steve and Patricia Gilley came to the Homecoming and '56 reunion along with Dr. Robert and Barbary Hayden Loomis. Photo was used in the December 1981 Oregon Stater, page 10. Robert "Bob" Loomis graduated with a general science degree in 1956 and served as the medical director for PacificSource Health Plans. Loomis was also president of the Oregon Medical Association. Loomis has been involved in the OSU Alumni Association Board, OSU Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Beaver Athletic Student Fund. Loomis received the Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
