Carolyn B. Shepard (seated) graduated from Oregon State Agricultural College in 1934 and held Secretary positions in several departments including Dean of the School of Agriculture and the Agricultural Experiment Station from 1935-1974+.
Willis Arden Sheets was a Senior Instructor in Horticulture at the North Willamette Experiment Station and later Washington County Extension Agent and Chairman from 1959-1992.
Murray D. Dawson (left) was a Professor of Soil Science and founder of the OSU Rugby Club. Dawson received the International Alumni Medal in 2006. Dudley L. Sitton (right) was a Professor of Agricultural Economics and Assistant Superintendent of the Malheur Experiment Station.

Previous to this, he served as head of the Department of Agricultural Economics from 1951 until 1966. Wood earned a BS degree from the University of Oregon, an MS from Oregon State College, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.

James R. Baggett was a faculty member at Oregon State University from 1956 until his retirement in 1995. He completed a Ph.D. in Horticulture at Oregon State College in 1956. As a faculty member, he continued the breeding work on peas, beans, cabbage, and broccoli that he had begun as a graduate student. He became head of the vegetable breeding program in 1973 when his mentor and colleague, William A. ("Tex") Frazier retired.
