Andy Landforce, wildlife management specialist, speaking to group of kids about underwater life. Andy Landforce served as the first County 4-H Agent in Wallowa County from 1946-1953. In 1953, Landforce was promoted to Wildlife Specialist.
George Hyslop became the professor of Farm Crops in 1929 and served the department until 1943. Hyslop helped form the basis for fiber flax, hops, and grass seed industries in Oregon. The George R. Hyslop Memorial Funds was created in his memory.
E.R. Jackman in grass nursery, Grant County. Erwin Russell Jackman received a B.S. in Agronomy from Oregon Agricultural College in 1921 and served as a faculty member for the Extension Service for 33 years. Jackman was also known for his books, including The Oregon Desert.
Frank L. Ballard graduated with a B.S. in agriculture in 1916. He served as the Vice Director of the Extension Service until he was appointed the President of Oregon State College. After a short term as President, Ballard returned to the Extension Service, eventually becoming the Extension Service Head from 1945-1961.
