The furniture was designed by college students and built in the college industrial arts shops for use in the Oregon Building at the Exposition, 1915-1916.
Photo shows examples of furniture designed and constructed by Oregon Agricultural College students. The cabinet work course included the mixing and application of stains, fillers, and various finishes; the design and construction of drawers and panel work; and primary upholstering. Many of the industrial arts students became teachers at the secondary and vocational level.
