"Panung" Skirt of red woven ribbed silk taffeta with side borders of green and violet; the center is covered with an all-over gold diaper pattern and is surrounded by various borders throughout the entire textile; borders are filled with metallic gold brocade in conventionalized floral, vine, and shrub designs that alternate between thinner bands of geometric patterns. The textile is wrapped around the body with excess fabric folded into pleats at front and held in place with a belt. This panung would have been worn by royalty.
Pants "Salwar" of yellow sateen with wide cuffs at hem of dark yellow and red sateen embellished with raised metallic cord tinsel embroidery in lively plant-like shapes; very wide pant with drawstring closure at waistline; dropped crotch; tapered to hem.
Blouse of red sateen embroidered with a silver tinsel cord over a cotton stuffing to give it a raised surface; biomorphic shapes are arranged in a diamond shape with ovals in between; wide neckline; short sleeves are finished with a cuff band of yellow sateen with silver tinsel embroidery; top is lined in red cotton and has a red cotton panel at hem of 5 3/4" length; hand-made.
Skirt of orange, red, and black pinstripe silk (maybe cotton as well); striped band at top and intricate band at bottom of added weft gold metallic threads; bottom band has brocaded geometric designs and horse, or horse-like creature. Design contains traditional Indonesian motifs.
