Three layers of imagery: Bronze Age figure with large headdress; three crude riders from the Iron Age; and more recent, crude frontal figure. On vertical surface of outcrop.
Detail of second rider on horse with long, full tail and head overlaid with leg of a later argali. Clear example of process of re-patination on argali. Scratch marks around images.
Group of images in same pecking style, including a highly stylized deer, a caprid, and a man on horseback possibly pulling a cart? On low, broken boulder.
View of boulder (""Encyclopedia stone"") with images indicative of Early Iron Age traditions: camel with four riders, back-turned animals, stylized stags, back-turned rider in ""Parthian shot""; second rider; and (on other side of stone) archer on foot.
Rider in Early Nomadic costume, drawing bow. In his gorytus is held another bow. Rendition of rider and his horse is fine, that of the other animals is uncertain. Flat bedrock surface with deep scrape.
Boulder with lower section uncovered to reveal a large figure leading a loaded animal (horse?). Above, by another hand, a stag executed in Arzhan style and a figure riding a bull or horse.
Detail of rider on spiky maned horse, with dog. Larger spiky maned horse on the right may have been enhanced by scoring at a later period, and the horn of the goat on the left may have been repecked more recently. On high, scraped, and damaged surface.
Detail of three riders/hunters from the upper part of the panel, showing possibility of variation in the execution of images even when they may have been executed at the same time and by the same hand. Note the similarity between the three in terms of the postures of the riders and they manner in which they sit their horses.
Tagar rider holding a recurve bow; several small animals, probably of the same period; and a snow leopard facing left and done at a later period. On scraped section of ""Large Panel"".
Horse rider holding a weapon behind his back and the reins of his horse in his other hand. The degree of re-patination, the treatment of the horse's mane, and the apparent lack of stirrups indicates Early Iron Age.
One of three riders with other animals, pecked into sloping side of large, deeply scraped outcrop. Style and transitional patina indicate a Late Bronze or Early Iron Age date.
Section of ""Large Panel"" with snow leopard; goats confronted by dogs; an archer with large bow, drawn arrow, and daluur; and two riders, one of which brandishes a Tagar battle axe. Horiontal, deeply scraped surface.
Detail of RA_PETR_TG_0929, with Tagar Period horse, goat, and camel on the right and three much later riders on the left. The camel has been partially repecked and covered with scratches, including that of a frontal stick figure. The riders on the left include one on a horse with ram horns; all have elaborate regalia.
Three figures: one small, on a horse, carrying a spear; second tall figure, walking, with long spear; third above, with drawn bow, partially lost under lichen. On scraped boulder.
Group of horses with one rider and a small predation scene (wolf, horse); composition spread over several broken boulders at top of the ridge overlooking the right bank of the Baga Oigor.
Rare image of a rider from the Early Iron Age, on a horse wearing deer antlers. This image should be compared with the appearance of horses masked with deer or sheep heads within Pazyryk Period burials.
Detail of south side of large boulder: at the top, a camel rider with the clothing and bow of an Early Nomad; in front of him, a ram (his prey?) and a stylized stag attacked by a dog; behind him, what may be a birthing figure or copulating figures. Skin of the boulder is much darkened, varnished, and spalled from matrix.
Detail of RA_PETR_TG_0929, with large stag, archer/rider, a small dog, a goat, and what may be a large wolf or dog. All images are executed with the same technique and style, indicating one composition and date, different from that of the light-colored riders in the full scene. Surface deeply scraped.
Large figure leading a rider, small girl (with feathered sleeves?) between them. On the left is an archer who appears to be menacing the group. On sloping, pocked and scraped bedrock.
Scene with a larfge, spoke wheeled vehicle driven by an unclear figure and pulled by two, small horses; a rider on a largte horse and several animals; on the the left, possibly a frontal woman in a posture expressive of alarm.
On upper surface, scraped and polished, scattered images, including a crude rider, two stylized deer followed by an uncertain animal, and a stylized deer in upper right (partial).
Group of figures that may or may not be related: archer in spoke wheeled cart drawn by two horses, small animal, and rider with tall headdress. On horizontal surface of rise.
Two archers on horseback, one well done, the other more clumsy. Both done in a style indicative of the Tagar Period. On scraped, worn west section of Large Panel.
Vertically sloping surface with several riders representing at least two different periods; hunter on foot shooting many arrows at group of animals and, in turn, being shot by a figure above his head (probably added later). This panel is just below RA_PETR_TG_0672 and appears to be largely done by the same hand.
Split boulder with remains of a large scene of the herding of cattle. This composition is an important indication of an early (late Bronze Age) use of riding for herding.
Section of ""Large Panel,"" with large stag confronted by a small rider/archer and (behind) a dog. Above, partially lost under the lichen, is another rider, possibly belonging to the same composition.
Detail view of the unfinished large horse with rider. It is uncertain whether the rider was executed at the same time as the horse, in which case the grouping would constitute a rare, early evidence of riding. The quality of the pecking of the two is similar and the manner in which the rider is represented in a partial silhouette, partial frontal view is accords with early representational mode.
Rider apparently driving a horse to the left. Under the horse and its tail can be seen a dog and walking man, facing to the right. This figure's body and quiver indicates a Bronze Age date, while the rider has the clothing and the horses the style of the Pazyryk Period. On deeply abraded surface.
Rider on horse carrying a crest of deer antlers. The style of the horse, like the crest, indicates the Early Iron Age and a relationship to the Pazyryk culture. Three small, related animals. On a sloping bedrock surface.
Group of frontal figures (dancing?), riders, and ibex or argali. On sloping outcrop below larger panel with stylized deer and frontal figures (RA_PETR_OI_0005).
