The College Inn was constructed as a private residence hall in 1967 by the College Inns of America. OSU acquired the property in 1975. After a major renovation in 2006, it became The Gem, named for an early OSU student publication. It is located on Kings Blvd. just north of Monroe Avenue.
OSU's Jon Sandstrom tackles Trojan running back O.J. Simpson. OSU's 3-0 win over no.1 USC in 1967 moved the Beavers into the No.7 ranking in the nation. Earlier the Beavers had defeated then-No.2 Purdue 22-14 and 2 weeks later they tied second-ranked UCLA 16-16. The feats earned them the nickname "The Giant Killers."
