The road behind the hangers is Grant Street. The field was bordered on the east side by a dirt road which is now NW Highland Ave. The field was operated by Albert Parmenter and Dick Lyndon. The Field was abandoned in 1930 when Parmenter moved to Eugene. Lyndon started another airport on S 3rd Street at what is now Goodnight Ave. The airplane on the right is a 1929 Swallow owned by Joe Chamberlin, Slats Gill, and Roy Getz. The middle plane is a 1929 American Eagle. The plane in the foreground is a 1925 WACO "9" powered by a 90 H.P. OX-5 engine.
This building was erected in 1907 as the Benton County National Bank, and became the Benton County State Bank in 1916. The basement featured a barbershop and Turkish baths. A street light hangs over the intersection of 2nd and Madison.
This postcard image shows Corvallis looking northwest. The original photograph from which the postcard was made was probably taken from the water tower at First and Adams. Photograph was hand colored.
