Roper was appointed OSU’s Vice Provost for Student Affairs in 1995 and served in that capacity until 2014. He also served as interim dean of the College of Liberal Arts in 2007-08, and taught classes in the College of Education and Ethnic Studies Department.

The shifting sand dunes are steadily encroaching on Cleawox Lake in the Jesse Honeyman Memorial Park on the Oregon coast. It is located 3 miles south of Florence, Oregon on Highway 101.
Detroit Dam, on Oregon's North Santiam River has a dual purpose of providing flood control and hydro electric power for the Northwest power grid. The lake formed behind the dam also provides a popular recreation area for boating, fishing and camping. This scene shows the upper side of the dam and part of the lake, located 50 miles east of Salem, Oregon, on Highway 22.
The Maurer's are a notable athletic clan in Oregon. There were five Maurer brothers, three of whom played football at OSU. The best known of the Maurers was Andy, who played at the UofO and had a long NFL career. The Maurers were from Prospect, where they played 8 man football.
