Fine composition on slanting, broken surface of high outcrop: hunter (bow not visible), partially hidden by lichen, preceded by wolves or dogs flying through the air in the direction of a bull with ball tail. Deer, goats, and other elements, all executed in fine, dense pecking.
Frontal female figure with long braids, long dress, and elongate elements at the bottom of her dress. Darkened image on very dark, damaged horizontal outcrop.
Twelve archers carrying long bows, in combat. Note spalled section revealing stone matrix. On terrace above south side of the upper valley of the Tsagaan Gol.
Large red slab with at least four layers of imagery: dark, Bronze Age images in the near foreground; two fine yaks in the center; two figures, one possibly on horseback and both possibly fighting, in the upper right; and modern writing at the top.
Hunting scene with rider and foot archers, argali, ibex, and a deer. In the lower section, two darker Bronze Age animals can be seen beside the fine, whitish argali. The foot archer has been pecked over an animal. Smooth, split outcrop.
Wolf attacking a large-horned ibex from back and neck. Variation in patination and comparison with much darker ibex on right suggests that this image has been refreshed since the Early Iron Age.
Small frontal figure with a variety of weapons: bow with arrow, bolas (on left) and daluur (on right). On abraded, vertical surface, with pitting at point of arrow.
Boulder, deeply scraped with extended composition built around an antler landscape: from the head of a small stag sprouts a large antler that becomes elongated into a mountain path. On the antler stands a small archer, shooting towards several large yaks. Other hunters, wild yak, and stags on left side of the composition. At the top of the surface is visible a large figure (giant?), partially bleached, with long sword. The scene may refer to a mythic narrative.
Large, worn boulder covered with complex scene: many warriors, three women (?) on left, female archer on upper right? Possible narrative scene. This boulder is one of several on same terrace, all with apparent narrative (?) compositions and most seemingly by the same hand.
Mask of Okunev type, similar to mask style found in Upper Yenisei. Note bull horns, added (later?) scratched projection at top of head, small knob under the mask's chin.
Boulder with two layers of images: the older layer (contoured and silhouetted animals) is overlaid by newer, lighter animals done in a very different style.
Small surface with several deeply pecked images: two bulls, two horses attached to the pole of a faint (unfinished?) cart, and two other horses. On boulder on terrace above right bank of the upper Tsagaan Gol.
Two horses pecked and arranged as if for the representation of a cart. Between the animals, obscure pecking suggesting the beginning of a shaft or of a figure. On scraped, sloping surface.
Detail of large panel: fine chariot with two figures, one holding reins to horses. The representation of two figures in a vehicle is relatively unusual.
Outcropping covered with animals. Since the photograph was taken, this outcropping has been essentially destroyed in the construction of an animal shelter.
Scene with animals in several different styles but possibly by the same hand: horses and squared animals with interior open pecking. This scene has been overlain by a scratched in scene of hunter with long, recurve bow and various animals. On fractured bedrock in Khar Chuluut.
Scene of possible ritual significance: four figures with large daluur and spears with appended tassels (?). Figures stand as if in dance posture. Below, two horizontal figures suggesting a birthing scene, except that the pecking of the figures is quite different. Note the way in which the hardened, varnished crust has broken off, revealing the dull matrix.
Large yak with interior parcelling, ornamented horns, and neck fringe, carrying a large basket in which there are several children. One figure leads the yak, others hold lines connected to the yak. Uncertain whether this is a caravan or a ritual scene. Note spalling of hardened, varnished upper surface of outcrop.
Detail showing archer with long daluur superimposed on an earlier animal, of which only the legs and part of the body are visible. On the right is a large, well-pecked ibex.
Detail of large hunt scene with finely pecked images of wolves (large and small) chasing a small goat. Note differences in style between these images and the cruder, larger ones.
Series of boulders all pecked by the same hand: representations of hunts with three hunters and many animals; on the sides of the boulders, at least two birthing women.
Detail with three figures. One seems to attack a second with a knife while other holds a large object, perhaps a sword or large dagger. The third figure is facing away, toward the fourth (not visible here) combatant.
Figure with quiver across his waist, daluur, bow and long line tracing path of arrow to small running argali on right. Above: crudely pecked, large argali. Bluish bedrock surface, dark re-patination.
Detail of caravan scene on side of large boulder with mask on upper surface. Note the children in the basket on the yak, the similarity in horn type with those of the mask. On the loaded yak, firm, dense pecking.
View of split boulder with early Bronze Age images. A large horse and rider are located on the upper surface of the lower half. View to the ESE, TS V in the distance.
