View of broken outcrop with a composition of hunters and animals spread over all parts of the surface. At the top of the foreground boulder is a group of birds in flight. This composition belongs to a group of three boulders that are covered with images, all seemingly by the same hand or of the same time.
Detail of large Early Nomadic figure pecked over scene with fine Bronze Age archers. Note variation in patination probably reflecting variation in mineralization of surface.
Figure in large hat standing on a bull with long, upright horns. The curved element on the left is uncertain. On the right, a dog (?) and, above, a goat in the style of the Late Bronze Age.
Detail of large figure with raised arm, overlaying contoured, walking bovid. Quality of pecking and overlaid position suggests that the figure and dog were executed later than the bovid, creating a de facto herding scene. The crude, engraved figure below belongs with the Turkic period hunting scene to the right.
Large, slab balanced on high surface of section: composition with several loaded yaks, one yak with relieved interior element, several figures of different sizes and varied postures; figures with hunting bows and clothing of the Early Nomadic Period.
Detail of section of shattered boulder where stag overlays an earlier animal, probably belonging to the scene with herded yaks. Note difference in patina and pecking. overlays
Surface with many animals, most by the same hand. At the bottom of the slide appears the upper part of a loaded (?) yak, now covered by dirt. On the left is a large hunter and a more recently, smaller hunter. Outcrop, sloping surface.
Detail with two hunters, both possibly from same time but one much more finely done and finished with considerable scoring. The latter figure carries a re-curve bow and seems to be aiming at the large goat on the other side of the section. The horse seems to have been pecked by the same hand as did the fine hunter, while the goat overlaps the archer and has thus probably been executed a little later.
Loose boulder with scene of a small hunter, large dog (?), and many wild caprids. Style in which the caprids are rendered is distinctively of the period known as Arzhan, but the pecking is relatively crude and edges rough. On right bank of Khar Salaa just above its confluence with Tsagaan Salaa.
Detail of large boulder with animals in Arzhan style: fine elk with raised head. Note excellence of pecked technique, tight control of exterior contour.
Detail of pair of stylized stags on long panel. Stag below is back-turned with open mouth; stag above appears to have one or two predators around his antlers. On sloping, damaged section of outcrop, Khar Chuluut.
Composition with large elk attacked by two snow leopards or wolves; on lower left, an archer with a ""horned"" headdress approaches the group. This composition, together with a hobbled horse (not visible here), is arranged on the fractured sections of an outcrop as if the outcrop were a landscape setting.
Elegant pair of stylized, Mongolian deer, stag followed by wolves or dogs. Small deer to right, other animals. On boulder at west end of ridge, near river.
Group of images on smooth, polished bluish surface within a large, horizontal outcrop. Wolf overlays an earlier Bronze Age animal in upper right; fine boar and small figure in lower left.
Three horses, one unfinished horse. The three on the left have been pecked with reserved areas, as if to indicate saddles. One of the horses is hobbled by a lead from head to legs. On sloping, fractured bedrock.
Three standing archers with short bows, shooting at a pair of fleeing elk. The scene is pecked across a broken vertical cliff face with considerable sheen.
Two caravan scenes, possibly conceived as one, on side of large, broken boulder in the middle of the central moraine. Above: one figure behind two loaded yaks; below: one figure leading a large yak loaded with parts of a dwelling. On vertical surface.
Scene of small hunter with fleeing small animals overlaid by group of larger animals done in a rougher style. Note differences in sharpness of pecking and patina.
Group of intertwined, stylized stags on the side of a curved outcrop. Images were executed with dense pecking, resulting in the appearance of a tattoo.
Deeply gouged surface with two layers: large elk with large antlers and crudely pecked animal (goat?) in center; above, deeply scored hunters shooting at caprids.
Elegant, deeply re-patinated stylized deer with long beak-like head, vestigial front leg, unfinished body. On large, pitted, and variously mineralized horizontal bedrock, west end of the section.
Chariot without any clear horses; one large horse facing the cart. On the right, another single wheel. The pecked surface where the driver would have been has spalled. Deeply scraped horizontal surface on terrace overlooking the valley.
Detail of ruined deer stone within broken frame. It is still possible to see a circular earring at the top and the remains of stylized stags. Located on Khöltsöötiin Khödöö.
Small hunter shooting right towards three animals done in an Arzhan style; stag and ucertain element on right appear to be by a different and later hand. On section of broken outcrop, Khar Chuluut.
Pair of stags executed in a style associated with Arzhan tradition; on deeply mineralized, high horizontal outcrop. Note variation in patination of larger stag.
Detail of two upper archers, one with horned headdress (?) and more recent scratching; other with uncertain element behind him; both have fine feet, long bows. Patina varies from whitened to darkened.
