Description
Five individuals pose on a float decorated for the Rose Festival parade. A woman on the far right side of the float is seated in a chair with a tall back that is raised on a platform. Two cherubs hold a crown attached to the pointed back of the chair. A tall architectural structure with a marble finish, columns, and detailed eaves is visible directly behind the cherubs. The seated woman is dressed in a flowing gown and wears a crown and flowers in her hair. In front of the lady are two women. One of the women stands dressed in a long gown. The other is seated dressed in a long skirt, long sleeved top, and layered material surrounding her face. Two children, with this same layered material surrounding their faces, stand in a large vase-shaped container with a lion head on its surface. Surrounding them is a curved roof structure with light bulbs on its surface that is supported by four twisting columns. The surface of the float is lined with lightbulbs and is decorated with a butterfly, and large flowers with leaves. On the front of the float hangs a sign that reads 16 Rosebuds Oregon's Crowning Glory. The float is situated on railroad tracks that are visible beneath the float. A large sheer piece of material hangs behind the float partially concealing a large classically styled building with a pediment and columns. Grass fills the foreground of the image.
