Knute Rockne at Oregon State in 1928 for a school for coaches. Rockne taught four summer coaching schools at Oregon State between 1925 and 1930. Knute Rockne, coach of the Notre Dame Irish, led his teams to three national championships.

The first KOAC radio transmitter (then KFDJ) was built in 1922 by physics professor Jacob Jordan and was located in Apperson Hall. Jordon is the second person from the left.
