Walt Mellenthin (left) was superintendent of Mid-Columbia Agricultural Experiment Station from 1952-1983. G. Burton Wood was Director of the OSU Agricultural Experiment Station from 1966-1975. Previous to this, he was head of the Department of Agricultural Economics from 1951-1966. John R. Davis (right) was a Professor and Dean of Agricultural Engineering, Associate Director of Athletics, Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station, and Provost for Calendar Conversion at OSU from 1971-1990.
Louise A. Hogan completed a Bachelor of Science at Oregon State College in 1958. She was a Chemist in Agricultural Chemistry at Oregon State in the 1970s.
Warren E. Kronstad (left) was a faculty member in the Crop and Soil Science department from 1959-1998. Kronstad lead the Wheat Breeding Project, which created new varieties of wheat. Kronstad received the Oregon State University Distinguished Professor Award. Polat Solen (middle) completed a Master of Science in Agronomic Crop Science at Oregon State in 1973. Margaret Stigler (right) was a Secretary of Farm Crops at Oregon State University.
G. Burton Wood (middle) served as Director of the OSU Agricultural Experiment Station from 1966 until his retirement in 1975. Previous to this, he served as head of the Department of Agricultural Economics from 1951 until 1966. Alice Henderson (right) was the wife of Robert W. Henderson.
John Kerry (holding microphone) served during the Vietnam War and was an active member of the anti-war movement. He later was a U.S. senator from Massachusetts from 1985-2013 and was a Secretary of State during the Obama administration.
Dan Williams Poling (standing) was the Dean of Men from 1947-1970. Clarice MacVicar (seated) was the wife of Oregon State University President Robert MacVicar.
Sign in background reads: "Started in 1954 through the efforts of the late Dr. S.M. Dietz, Head Botany and Plant Pathology Dept. and Dr. H.J. O'Reilly, extension plant pathologist. Is the second formal Plant Clinic in the U.S. North Carolina State University started one earlier. The Plant Clinic operation, an important part of the extension plant pathology program, includes specialists in the Dept. of Botany and Plant Pathology."
Giles French (center) was Editor and Publisher of the Sherman County Journal. Henry Hagg (right) was a dairy farmer in northwest Oregon. Henry Hagg Lake in Scoggins Valley, Oregon, was named in his honor.
Walter E. Matson (facing camera, right) was an Extension Agricultural Engineer at Oregon State from 1965-1985. Peter Lyngstrand was an architectural draftsman at Oregon State University.
Frank Charles Reimer (left) was the Superintendent of the Southern Oregon Experiment Station. One of his focuses was locating pear trees that were resistant to Fireblight. Part of the Hanley Farm became part of the branch experiment station in 1957. Dr. Porter B. Lombard (right) was Professor of Horticulture from 1963-1992.
Lester B. Strickler (right) was a Professor of Finance at Oregon State University from 1954-1986 and was President of the Oregon School Employees Association.
Wilbur T. Cooney (left) was Professor of Poultry Science and Dean of the School of Agriculture from 1937-1980. Joseph R. Cox (right) graduated from Oregon State in 1939. He was Associate Director and Director of the Oregon State University Cooperative Extension Service from 1945-1950 and 1957-1977.

Robert W. MacVicar was president of Oregon State University from 1970-1986. MacVicar was also a professor of chemistry and tripled the size of the university's budget. During his years as president, the size of the campus increased with 23 additional buildings.
