Thomas W. Thompson served as an extension agent in Sherman, Wasco, and Umatilla County. Thompson was involved with the Extension Service for 30 years and retired in 1977.
Merrill Oveson was an Extension agent for Umatilla County from 1931-1938 and served as the Superintendent of the Pendleton Experiment Station from 1948-1966. A white winter wheat variety is named after Oveson.
Bert E. Christensen (left) and Roy A. Young (right) at 25-year club event. Roy A. Young became Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology in 1948 and taught courses in plant bacterial diseases and disease control. Young was head of the Botany and Plant Pathology department from 1958-1966. Young served for a short term as acting president from 1969-1970.
Ernest Hugh Gardner (center) completed a Master of Science at Oregon State University in 1959 and and a PhD in 1960. He was an Extension Soil Scientist from 1966-1986.

Gilfillan was a professor of Chemistry (1927-1939) and Dean of Science (1939-1962). Gilfillan also filled in as acting President of Oregon State College from 1941-1942. Dr. Bert E. Christensen was a Professor of Chemistry from 1931-1971.
