She received her Baccalaureate from Portland State University with Honors in 1987 and was recognized with the 1983 Corning Award as outstanding student while studying at the internationally renowned Pilchuck Glass School. She has received significant awards including Outstanding Woman Artist of Solano County, in 1989 among others.
