Marghab Linens Ltd. was founded in 1933 on the island of Madeira, off the coast of Portugal, by Emile and Vera Marghab. The women of the island were introduced to hand embroidery in the mid-1800s and began to specialize in the art. Vera designed all of the linens, and had high quality expectations for the women that worked for her company. The linens gained a great reputation and are of high value today.
