Photo of Caterpillar Diesel RD8 with Hyster arch and towing winch, and equipped with LeTourneau bulldozer, handling 60M per 8 hours on a 1200 foot haul. Average log 600 feet--32 to 40 feet long, 5-6 logs to turn. The RD8 consumed 4 gallons of 6 1/2 cent fuel an hour on this work. The tractor was owned by 3-M Logging Company of Jewell, Oregon.
