"Oregon's highest waterfall, Multnomah Falls, is located only 30 miles east of Portland. The falls which was first discovered by Lewis & Clark during their expedition in 1805, tumbles to the floor of the Columbia River Gorge in two levels. A foot bridge crosses the falls at the top of the lower level. The trail continues on to the top of the falls.
