The tree was a gift from the president of Ohio State University on the occasion of the 1958 Rose Bowl in which Ohio State defeated the Ducks 10-7. Also identifiable are Duck football player J. C. Wheeler (next to Casanova) and Duck cheerleader Amelia Kearney (2nd from left).

Description: Black and white photo of two University of Oregon yell kings (in white, at center) in the middle of a throng of students at Hayward Field on November 15, 1919, prior to a football game against Oregon Agricultural College. This was the first game ever played at Hayward Field and was won by the home team 9-0. The grandstand in the background is packed and there are even spectators on the roof.
