Description
Roy A. Young (left) became assistant professor of Plant Pathology in 1948. Young was head of the Botany and Plant Pathology department from 1958-1966. Young served for a short term as acting president from 1969-1970. He also served as Vice President of Research and Graduate Studies through 1977. Walter Foreman (right) was a Professor of English from 1948-1976. Foreman served as the Chairman of the department from 1965-1975.

Description
J. Kenneth Munford (standing) received a degree in Education in 1934 from Oregon State College. From 1939-1941, Munford was an instructor for the English Department. In 1948, Munford became an editor for the Office of Publications, later being promoted to Director of Publications in 1956. Munford helped lead the founding of OSU Press in 1961.
