Table scarf of old brocaded yellow satin heavily embroidered with colorful silks in a satin stitch; center medallion is 11" in diameter with a large pink, red and orange-yellow peony at the very center surrounded by green leaves, pink and blue peonies and swastikas; the rest of the panel is covered by flowers, stems and leaves predominantly in blue with a few pinky-red peonies; lined with yellow cotton.

From record: Purchased in China the table scarf was made from embroidered silk from the royal palace. The style of the embroidery with the interlocking flower design is of the Ch'ing dynasty.
