Table Runner or Towel of white muslin with red and black border designs; six geometric bands are separated by single filling threads of black and red; central band has elephants in profile; unknotted warp fringe at each end. Might be a towel. Maybe 19th century.
Table Cover of beige ramie, a plain woven stiffened fiber, with red cotton embroidery; two lines of running stitch embroidery trim the edge; each of the four corners has ornate embroidered designs; zig-zag embroidery trims the edges. Record says the fabric is ramie. It's a stiffened fiber that feels like pineapple cloth or banana cloth.
