More information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariano_Fortuny_(designer) This is an original block print table scarf by Mariano Fortuny. Fortuny was born in Spain in 1871, but made his career in Venice, Italy where he opened and operated a couture house from 1906 to 1946. Fortuny combined art, science and technology. He was an inventor and fashion designer. His "Fortuny pleated" Delphos gowns have been exhibited in major museums around the world. The fine hand-pleating technique he invented has never been able to be duplicated!
