Disbro has been a professor of art at Jamestown Community College, and has received a commission to create a sculpture for the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Ore. The 8-foot high piece, titles 'Forward Pass' and fabricated in 1/4-inch stainless steel, will be located between the university's new Len Casanova Athletic Center and football stadium. Funds for the sculpture were provided by the Oregon Arts Commission's Arts in Public Places program. A member of the JCC faculty since 1970, Disbro earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Kent State University. He was awarded a state University of New York Research Foundation Grant in 1976. A 1987 recipient of the JCC Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, Disbro is a member of the College Art Association and the National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts.
