a) Dress of navy blue print silk with repeat pattern of abstract soldiers, British flags, and politically charged symbols in pinks, chartreuse, blue, and light grey; bateau neckline; short, puffy sleeves are cut in one with yoke; stitched, horizontal tucks of yoke release fullness at the top of the sleeves; sleeves have two reverse pleats at the sleeve hem, one at front and one at back; mid-length skirt has four sunburst pleated godets, two at front and two at back, at knee level; unlined b) Belt of self-fabric is double-faced and stitched in horizontal stripes; self-silk covered buckle.

Dress of ecru cotton with bright brown pattern of flowers and bricks in vertical stripes: a) Bodice has high, round neckline and long pagoda sleeves with tiered fringe at ends; dropped shoulders; bodice is fitted through the waist and has an A-line to below hip length trimmed in alternating gold and brown fringe; button-front closure with opaque white buttons carved in a woman's head in profile; white portion is encased in gold braided cabochon; boning; backed in muslin. b) Skirt is full length and wide; tightly gathered at waistband; concealed right pocket; ties at side; hook and eyes at side closure.
