This class was taught by Herman Scullen and may have been a component of a rehabilitation program for World War I veterans. Scullen taught beekeeping and entomoloy at Oregon State from 1920 to 1953.
Delmer Goode became Assistant College Editor in 1919, eventually serving as the Director of University Publications from 1943-1956. In 1919, Goode founded Troop 1 of the Boy Scouts of America. Herman Scullen was honey bee Entomologist from 1920-1953. During Scullen's years in the Entomology department, the wasp collection increased dramatically. The Herman A. Scullen Memorial Fellowship was established for graduate studies in apiculture.
