Robert William MacVicar came to OSU in 1970 from Southern Illinois University, where he had been serving as both vice president and chancellor since 1964. A land grant university advocate, MacVicar was OSU's eleventh president and retired from the position in 1984.
James H. Jensen (speaking) served as president of Oregon State University from 1961-1969. Within these eight years, Jensen expanded OSU faculty and facilities significantly and founded the 25 Year Club, which recognized employees who have worked at OSU for 25 years.
