Description: This painting is divided into three sections. The foreground is comprised of a red rectangular form that enters the picture plane from the lower right-hand corner, and it contains several enigmatic items. The middleground is composed of a section of alternating light and dark stripes, reminiscent of strip-farmed land, and it contains what appears to be a floral form and a pair of scissors. The background is divided into left and right by two sections of red and blue alternating stripes, separated in the middle by a black abyss., George Johanson; Striped Table Mountain; oil 1982; 60x51 inches, George Johanson attended and taught at the Museum Art School in Portland, Oregon.
